A rich heritage
The foundation stone of St Stephen’s Anglican Church was laid on 24 July 1877. The church was formally opened on 17 February 1878.
Embracing the light
In 1889 the Inangahua Times reported “the committee of St Stephen’s Anglican Church have led the way” amongst the Christian denominations in Reefton in adopting the “electric light” from power supplied from Reefton’s Electric Light Company.
